Barn doorsChoosing a HOSTACK trash can cabinets
Start with the height of the space where this cabinet will live. Our pieces run from 20″ to 86″, and that range covers most kitchens, mudrooms, and laundry areas. If you plan to set it under a window or beside a counter, measure down from the top first. A taller cabinet hides two full-size bins behind its doors, so it works best where floor-to-ceiling clearance is not an issue. The shorter models hold one bin or a pair of smaller ones, and they fit beneath standard wall cabinets without crowding the room.
All 11 pieces in this department use barn-style doors that slide on a track instead of swinging open. That design saves space in front of the cabinet, but it does mean you need a few inches of side clearance for the door panels to move past each other. If your placement spot sits tight against a wall or another piece of furniture, these will not work for you. None of our trash-can cabinets include anti-tip hardware, so we do not recommend them for homes with toddlers who climb unless you secure them yourself.
Adjustable shelves show up on 47 of the pieces here. They let you raise or lower the shelf to match the height of your bins, which matters if you already own cans that are taller than the stock size. The rest have a fixed shelf position, and those work fine as long as you buy bins to fit the space rather than the other way around. We offer six finishes across the line, so you can match existing cabinetry or pick a color that stands out on its own.
This department will not suit you if you need built-in power for a sensor tap or a small appliance near the bin area. None of these cabinets include outlets or USB ports. They also will not help if you want a pull-out mechanism. Every model here uses doors that you open by hand to reach the cans inside. For a clean look that keeps trash out of sight in a kitchen, entryway, or utility room, one of these eleven pieces should handle the job.
